Saturn enters Capricorn on today until March 21, 2020. Then due to a retrograde period it will travel back to Sagittarius, returning to Capricorn on July 1, 2020 and will remain there until December 17, 2020. With Saturn in Capricorn, the signs it rules, Saturn is dignified and functioning well. Saturn feels right at home in Capricorn.
Saturn’s transition from Sagittarius to Capricorn is going to be noticed immediately. While Saturn was in Sagittarius, we were urged us to take control of our excesses, to question our faith, and to better understand our belief systems. Sagittarius is a fiery visionary sign, the sign of the sojourner and the preacher. How well did your beliefs hold up? Did you have to accept that some things you believed in had to be let go of? Did you lose faith? Did you find some ways in which your faith was reaffirmed?
Capricorn is ruler of governments, politics, and rulers, so Saturn in Capricorn may bring extra focus on governments, politics, and rulers, for better or worse. Some may fall, and some may strengthen; some may change and evolve; some may be challenged and feared. Irresponsible globalism and capitalism likely get targeted harshly under punishing Saturn energy. Narrow views may be under the microscope and we’re forced to take a step back and see how all of the pieces of the machine work together instead of just focusing on one component.
Responsibility and maturity comes under Capricorn’s rulership. Saturn and Capricorn are adulthood, sobering us with the realities of what we can and can’t do, of the limitations and restrictions of real life, of the duties we must take on and the lessons of age. Some fight this, but the wise understand that there’s nothing to fight. Work with it, or lose. There are no other options.
