February 2019 - Moving Forward ...

Overall, February is an uplifting month where we can continue to forge ahead with confidence. We still have no planets in retrograde, which will fuel our momentum and keeping us on track and motivated. By listening to our inner-wisdom and looking after our bodies, minds, and souls, we can do anything.

This is the month of love, but Mars is going to give us some challenges in that realm.  While Mars is at home in Aries from January 1st to February 14th and we will be in a better position to work on the areas of our life that need energy, enthusiasm and passion. But be cautious against becoming pushy, impulsive or quick-tempered.  Don’t railroad others into doing your bidding. On the very first day of the month, Mars forms a combustible square with calculating Pluto in authoritarian Capricorn. You’ll feel a high-strung pressure in the air that will be impossible to ignore. Then on the February 13, Mars makes its second major scene, locking into a rare conjunction with unpredictable Uranus. With these two volatile planets united in hotheaded Aries, tempers flare. But on the upside, this is a moment to take bold action in an area where you’ve been fearful or hesitant. Mars and Uranus will never meet in Aries again in our lifetimes, so it’s a rare moment to strike while the iron is sizzling. On Valentine’s Day, Mars’ passion loses some intensity as it transits into stable Taurus. Mars in Taurus is a difficult placement and is considered a “debilitated”. In other words: if you were getting somewhere with stalled projects, abandoned work-out routines, and clearing up your frustrations, get ready for a slowdown. On the other hand, for many of you this will be a chance for you to ground your energies and direct them better, rather than simply running around wildly but not getting anything done.

Don’t look to Venus to help with amorous escapades as she moves into practical Capricorn on the February 3. Venus is not completely comfortable here, where usefulness outshines beauty.  Relationships serve a purpose under Capricorn, and this is a good time for business partnerships not so much romantic pursuits.

The New Moon on the February 4 in the sign of Aquarius is going to bring some welcome relief. This New Moon is one of the best this year, and has so much positivity and abundance attached to it. We are definitely going to feel our spirits lifted and far more hopeful about what the future has in store for us.

Pay attention to your dreams because on February 10 mental Mercury enters psychic Pisces, the sign it will be in through mid-April due to Mercury’s coming retrograde cycle. This extra-long cycle helps you open to a higher vision and enhance intuitive abilities; however, it also bursts illusions and fantasy-thinking to get you to that higher spiritual vision.

Sun shifts into the sign of Pisces on February 18, which is the final sign of the zodiac. This means we are going to begin wrapping up the themes and lessons we have been working with since March of 2018. Now is the final stage of winter, a time for tying up loose ends and preparing for the coming spring. Pisces may be the most important part of the zodiacal progression as it ends one cycle and brings us to the brink of a new one that starts again in Aries. In order to embrace something new, we must empty ourselves of all that forms a barrier between us and that “something new.” If we resist the closure process of Pisces, we may not retain the rewards we have harvested. Use this period to reconnect with Divine, to enter into inner stillness, as you seek answers for the goals you want to plant in the spring.

On February 19 we have the Full Moon in Virgo, the second Supermoon of the year.  With the Moon in Virgo we are all reconnecting to the earth and experiencing our physical selves and environment in a more embodied, emotionally connected way.  Shedding new light on your health and wellness, a lot of questions and considerations will be important now. Whether you have been focusing on your well-being and connection to your body or not, now you have an opportunity to become more conscious of how you are feeling and what needs to be addressed and changed.
